Revival & Reformation Witnessed Among Youth

Around the world, young people are stepping up in amazing ways to make a difference for Jesus. Several of these moments were witnessed at the 2011 South Caribbean Conference Youth Convention.
Ten-year-old Shafiqua Williams, a non-Adventist Pathfinder member, had delivered a presentation at an earlier Pathfinder fair that left the youth leaders so impressed, they asked her to present the Sabbath school message for the convention.
Empowered by the Holy Spirit and on fire for Jesus Christ, Shafiqua delivered an inspiring message. Under the theme of the Great Controversy, she underlined the times in which we live and challenged youth and leaders alike to make a greater commitment to the message of the Seventh-day Adventist church.

“God's remnant people, standing before the world as reformers, are to show that the law of God is the foundation of all enduring reform and that the Sabbath of the fourth commandment is to stand as a memorial of creation, a constant reminder of the power of God.”

After making a sincere appeal that all would surrender to Christ and commit to His mission, Shafiqua called those who so desired to come to the altar for prayer; more than half of the congregation responded to this young girl’s heart cry.

The convention also witnessed one of the many creative ways in which young people are expressing their faith in Jesus.

A group of Pathfinders has committed to memorizing lengthy sections of Scripture and creatively reciting the verses in unison as a choir. The group chose Isaiah 6 for their presentation, ending with the petition, “Here I am, Lord. Send me!”
May we all be encouraged as our young people continue to exemplify their commitment to the Word of God.
